The Private Lives of Pippa Lee

In brief:
Not bad movie with excellent performances by the women — flat performances by the men. Not a complete waste of time.

Ramblings
Can't quite figure out how the couples got together since there didn't seem to be any chemistry (or heat) between the Alan Arkin and Robin Wright Penn. Or, for that matter, between Alan Arkin and Blake Lively. Or even between Keanu Reeves and Robin Wright Penn.

The women are multi-faceted and act their socks off including Maria Bello. Julianne Moore, and Winona Ryder. Since no acting is required by any of the men, Keanu Reeves was perfect casting, but Alan Arkin is wasted and sort of sleepwalks through his part.

Plot is lots of pop-psychology: peoples' motivations are based on past experiences. A lot of times I heard people say "Huh?" at certain plot twists. A few laughs. A laughable ending — but what took her so long?
